... Mr. Antony was not in favour of the AICC resolution taking a critical note of the eulogy of LTTE cadres. (This was an indirect reference to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s recent paean to a slain LTTE activist). His argument was that the Tamil Nadu Congress had already voiced its objection. Where was the need for the AICC to rub it in once again against a critical ally?

  1. I fully agree with the views said in this column. The actual issue is not whether LTTE has to be supported or banned. The actual issue is what we can do something for the people of Tamils in Srilnaka. In India anyone who approaches the issue of Srilankan Tamils approach it from their won standpoints of party, ideology, movement etc. Nobody wants to approach it from the standpoint of sufrering tamils and in what way we can bring about peace. The actual fact is that whether one supports LTTE or not no solution can be brought without their consent. They also have to some extent won the support of the majority Tamils there. So, we have to look at this issue practically instead of taking a stern stand against either for or against LTTE. Morevoer COngress's stand on LTTE is not based on any policy but just on the sentiment that LTTE has killed Rajiv. They have to also move beyond and look at the issue in terms of policies, ideologies and above all the welfare of Tamils

What are you trying to prove by this? Is Rajiv Gandhi assasination is not against the sovereignity of Idnia?

You may have your own reasons to appease some groups. But dont try to mention blatant stupid comments like this in your blogs. Please!

    Why only Congress party?

He is not a former PM of this largest democracy?
    He is not an Indian?

  5. Indian feels (4th comment) that an Indian has been killed and so he feels sorry as an Indian. Yes sure. may I ask a simple question, 7000 tamils in Srilanka were killed by During IPKF presence in Srilanka. Who caused that? does not he feel sorry for them? So,instead of going on arguing like this we have to take stock of the situation today and look for peaceful solutions
